Principal Consultant, Cyber Architecture

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead substantial security initiatives alongside members of the Presidio Cybersecurity team.

• Engage in security architecture conversations with clients to pinpoint architectural and hardening vulnerabilities.

• Create or evaluate secure client architectures that comply with regulatory standards and security best practices.

• Formulate strategic, operational, and tactical recommendations to address risks and compliance deficiencies.

• Perform security architecture and controls evaluations utilizing frameworks such as CIS 18, NIST 800-53, and NIST CSF.

• Work together with Cybersecurity Architects and other teams to deliver and implement consulting services.

• Adhere to project timelines and ensure client success metrics are met.

• Uphold a high level of client satisfaction.

• Maintain the utmost standards of integrity and confidentiality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military or professional experience.

• At least 10 years of relevant experience in IT, security, consulting, or professional services.

• Previous consulting experience is preferred.

• Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.

• Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Capacity to perform under pressure while maintaining composure and professionalism in a dynamic environment.

• Ability to handle multiple and fluctuating priorities/tasks.

• Initiative and capability to work both collaboratively and independently.

• Demonstrated enthusiasm for technology, solution design, and self-directed learning.

• Comfortable leading group presentations or whiteboard discussions.

• Extensive knowledge of AI security, governance, threat modeling, and enterprise risk management.

• Proficient in AWS, Azure, and/or GCP cloud security.

• Familiarity with identity security, including IAM, privileged access management, IDaaS, and directory services.

• Understanding of security controls such as firewalls, NAC, IPS/IDS, endpoint protection, content filtering, VPN, and SIEM.

• Knowledge of Zero Trust principles.

• Effective decision-making abilities regarding secure architecture design and implementation.

• Experience with Microsoft operating systems, Linux, and containers.

• Proficient in documentation with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio or Lucidchart.

• Current CISSP certification is required.

• At least one recognized cloud certification: CCSP, CCSK, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.

• Preferred scripting experience in PowerShell or Python.

• Experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating cybersecurity architectures in regulated environments is preferred.

• Familiarity with security testing and audit tools like Nessus and NMAP is preferred.
