Forensic, Toxicological Chemist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create complex single-turn prompts within the field of chemistry and chemical safety.

• Classify prompts as benign, dual-use, or adversarial.

• Assess model outputs against established policy standards.

• Evaluate whether the responses accurately addressed technical requests.

• Develop reference answers that explain correct responses and the underlying technical reasoning.

• Differentiate between legitimate professional inquiries and those that may suggest potential misuse.

• Utilize forensic and chemical casework expertise to evaluate AI safety practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in conducting casework related to the identification of substances and precursors.

• Familiarity with controlled substance casework in a forensic laboratory, including both identification and quantification.

• Knowledge of clandestine laboratory responses, precursor identification, and scene chemistry.

• Experience in forensic toxicology, particularly with postmortem or human performance casework.

• Background in monitoring trends or conducting intelligence analysis related to seized drugs and precursors.

• Expertise in providing expert testimony and writing reports pertaining to chemical casework.

• Strong technical writing skills; every assessment must include a rationale that is comprehensible to a non-specialist audience.

• Previous experience in technical writing, published research, or as an expert witness is highly desirable.

• Must refrain from using classified, export-controlled, NDA-covered information, or content subject to prepublication review obligations.

• Required to disclose any such obligations to ensure appropriate project scoping.

• Ability to read and articulate misuse scenarios within the field for extended durations.

• Red-teaming experience is preferred but not mandatory.
