Forensic Structural Engineer, PE

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Conduct thorough forensic investigations related to structural damage, defects, failures, moisture intrusion, source evaluations, premises liability claims, and roofing issues.

• Execute site inspections and collect pertinent data.

• Utilize engineering principles and practices to evaluate and analyze structural concerns.

• Compose clear and concise technical reports detailing findings and conclusions.

• Provide expert testimony in legal proceedings as necessary.

• Stay updated with industry trends, codes, and standards in structural engineering.

• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).

• Experience in forensic engineering is preferred.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adhere to deadlines.

• Experience providing expert testimony in legal proceedings is advantageous.

• U.S. Person status is required due to ITAR export controls: U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee in the United States.

• Comfortable supporting cases in the Richmond, VA area.

• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
