This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Perform site evaluations to ascertain the cause, origin, and extent of structural damage.
• Assess failure modes and their contributing factors.
• Investigate structural damages resulting from storms, natural disasters, fires/explosions, construction/design defects, accidents, foundation movements, and other causes.
• Formulate clear, well-supported conclusions.
• Generate technical reports, documentation, and deliverables.
• Provide timely and professional updates to clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Bridge communication gaps and manage stakeholder expectations.
• Operate independently from a home office while utilizing internal experts and resources.
• Foster long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and partners.
• Drive issues to resolution in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure that deliverables meet or surpass customer expectations and applicable standards.
• Contribute innovative ideas to enhance processes, tools, and customer outcomes.
• Assist others in navigating change and embracing improvements.
• Minimum of 2 years of forensic engineering experience required; 5–10 years preferred.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a closely related field from an ABET-accredited institution required.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Ohio required, or eligibility for reciprocity.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship or restrictions.
• Capability to work independently and collaborate with a cross-functional team of experts.
• Strong technical writing skills with the ability to produce effective reports.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to deliver outstanding customer service.
• Technical proficiency with computers, phones, cameras, and related equipment.
• Capacity to perform fieldwork, including inspections of confined spaces and roofs.
• Ability to carry ladders and operate necessary equipment.
• Willingness to travel locally, regionally, and nationally by vehicle or plane.
• Some overnight travel required.
• Expert Witness experience is preferred.
