This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide support for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of a payroll application for a U.S. Government client.
• Ensure that requirements meet client specifications and government standards through formal verification processes.
• Convert high-level product development strategies into detailed system requirement specifications.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to create more granular implementation requirements.
• Establish and manage development standards, practices, and procedures for product development.
• Design interfaces and integrate various system components.
• Evaluate performance using defined criteria and technical performance metrics.
• Communicate with customers and assist in business development efforts to gather and refine requirements.
• Engage in the conceptual design of systems and document design concepts effectively.
• Participate in hardware and software component design reviews.
• Create system-level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance testing protocols.
• Review testing plans and procedures, and take part in testing to confirm that requirements are met.
• Modify existing databases and database management systems, or guide programmers and analysts in making necessary changes.
• Write and develop logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers for databases.
• Oversee database development as part of a project team and define project scope and limitations.
• Assess database project requests and provide estimates for time and costs required for completion.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen (no dual citizenship permitted).
• Over 5 years of mainframe experience with COBOL, CICS, JCL, and DB2.
• Previous experience with FOCUS COBOL is required.
• Proficient in designing, coding, and testing software requirements.
• Basic understanding of the complete software development lifecycle, from business/systems analysis to requirements gathering, functional specification development, testing, and delivery.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies is advantageous.
• Capability to work autonomously.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, problem-solving, customer service, and interpersonal abilities.
• Must be able to obtain a DoD Public Trust clearance.
• Must not have traveled outside the U.S. for a total of 6 months or more in the past 5 years.
• Must have resided in the U.S. for the last 5 years.
• Contract-to-Hire position.
