Flutter Tech Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of high-level mobile system architecture and establish patterns for creating stable, modular, and efficient mobile applications.

• Convert business objectives into technical frameworks and make informed decisions regarding system trade-offs.

• Set engineering benchmarks for application startup times, memory usage, and frame rates.

• Assess mobile technologies, frameworks, and tools to address complex scaling challenges.

• Develop and implement migration strategies, including native add-to-app integrations.

• Define and uphold security standards, which include certificate pinning, obfuscation, and anti-tampering measures.

• Contribute directly to critical systems and core framework libraries through hands-on coding.

• Lead incident response efforts and conduct root-cause analysis for significant mobile production incidents.

• Enhance application performance by addressing UI/raster jank, memory leaks, and CPU-intensive operations using Dart Isolates.

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Heads of Streams, and Team Leads to develop technical roadmaps and release timelines.

• Standardize CI/CD pipelines, automate fastlane releases, and manage app-store submission processes.

• Ensure alignment of architectural patterns across various cross-functional streams.

• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers while conducting code reviews.

• Assist Team Leads in creating technical Personal Development Plans for mobile engineers.

• Foster an engineering culture through technical documentation, architecture reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years in commercial software development.

• At least 3 years dedicated to Flutter/Dart.

• Practical experience in native iOS (Swift) or Android (Kotlin).

• Strong capabilities in system design and architectural thinking.

• Profound understanding of Dart internals, including isolates, asynchronous programming, and null safety.

• In-depth knowledge of Flutter's rendering pipeline.

• Familiarity with state management using Bloc or Riverpod.

• Experience with unit, widget, and integration testing.

• Experience managing monorepos with Melos.

• Ability to balance technical excellence with delivery speed.

• Experience handling high-frequency real-time data through WebSockets, long-lived connections, and protobuf/JSON serialization.

• Knowledge of mobile security standards.

• Proficient in effective technical communication with both engineering and non-engineering stakeholders.

• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Delivery, and Operations teams.

• Experience guiding engineers through code reviews, technical roadmaps, and personal development planning.
