First Aid and CPR Instructor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Conduct American Red Cross courses for community groups at American Red Cross facilities as well as at community or corporate locations.

• Provide Red Cross Training Services courses in accordance with current certifications.

• Prepare the classroom at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the class.

• Manage, store, transport, load, unload, carry, and lift designated equipment.

• Replenish necessary equipment on a monthly basis and keep an active inventory of supplies.

• Clean equipment following decontamination protocols and report any maintenance issues.

• Ensure the quality, consistency, and standardized delivery of courses.

• Notify the Instructor Manager of any violations for quality assurance assessments.

• Adhere to registration policies for unregistered participants in community classes.

• Commit to a fixed availability schedule in Skedulo to accommodate teaching needs in the territory.

• Maintain regular communication with the Instructor Manager.

• Submit requests for unavailability, bi-monthly expense reports, weekly timecards, and essential training documentation.

• Utilize the assigned RedCross.org corporate email for correspondence related to the American Red Cross.

• Engage in town halls, quarterly all-member virtual meetings, product updates, certification classes, and approved development training.

• Execute light logistical tasks, including restocking equipment.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.

• Current instructor certification in the relevant discipline is preferred.

• Once certified, maintain current basic and instructor-level certifications for the courses being taught.

• Basic computer and email proficiency is necessary.

• Proven ability to utilize MS Office applications.

• Strong presentation skills are essential.

• Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.

• Ability to convey course material in a clear and understandable manner.

• Proficiency in teaching effectively in an adult learning environment.

• Willingness to travel regionally 90–95% of the time.

• A valid driver's license is required.

• Access to reliable transportation to training locations is necessary.

• Capability to stand, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.

• Ability to frequently lift or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds.

• Capacity to work in a small cubicle and sit at a computer for extended periods.

• Fixed availability during the day, evening, or weekends is required.

• Comfort and experience with audio-visual technology, including computer/LCD and PowerPoint, are beneficial.
