Fintech General Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement business strategies that align with growth, revenue, profitability, and market share targets.

• Provide comprehensive leadership, mentorship, and operational oversight for a multidisciplinary team.

• Identify and foster new business opportunities throughout sub-Saharan Africa.

• Establish strategic partnerships with banks, payment providers, fintech companies, and retailers.

• Lead commercial negotiations concerning agreements, pricing, distribution rights, and international supplier partnerships in Asia and Europe.

• Assess terminal hardware, software, and value-added solutions to enhance the product portfolio.

• Manage supply chain logistics, procurement, inventory availability, and terminal repair operations.

• Collaborate with software development teams on applications and integration efforts.

• Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, margin monitoring, cost optimization, and management reporting.

• Conduct regular virtual collaborations with internal teams, customers, and global partners via camera.

• Engage in periodic international travel across Africa, Europe, and Asia.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related discipline.

• At least 10 years of experience in the payments or point-of-sale terminal industry.

• A minimum of 5 years in a senior management or executive leadership position.

• Proven ability to manage and oversee business financial performance effectively.

• Demonstrated knowledge of point-of-sale payment terminals and ecosystems, particularly Android-based devices.

• Operational experience in terminal procurement, distribution, support, and repair.

• Experience working across various African countries and managing relationships with Asian and European suppliers.

• Willingness to undertake periodic international travel within Africa, Europe, and Asia.

• Relevant professional industry certifications in payments, banking, or electronic transactions are a plus.

• A Master of Business Administration (MBA) or an equivalent postgraduate qualification is preferred.

• Direct experience in distributing and selling point-of-sale terminals within sub-Saharan Africa is advantageous.

• A background in collaborating directly with international hardware manufacturers is beneficial.
