Financial Systems Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Provide operational support for Finance applications and associated business processes.

• Collaborate with IT to explore and resolve production-related issues.

• Conduct root-cause analysis for system, billing, accounting, interface, and data challenges.

• Coordinate corrective measures, support financial reconciliations, and monitor data integrity.

• Evaluate the financial and operational implications of incidents, defects, system modifications, and releases.

• Identify recurring challenges and suggest sustainable improvements for systems, processes, or controls.

• Assist with SAP S/4HANA GRC access monitoring, periodic access audits, and remediation efforts.

• Collaborate with business leaders to convert strategic objectives into quantifiable business requirements.

• Facilitate workshops and interviews to document Finance business requirements.

• Create and maintain business requirement documents and process diagrams.

• Detect process deficiencies and propose enhancements or automation opportunities.

• Convert requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria using Jira or similar tools.

• Lead backlog grooming and prioritization sessions in collaboration with IT.

• Act as a liaison between Finance and IT to ensure alignment of financial systems with business objectives.

• Work together with developers and QA testers to confirm functionality.

• Assist in issue resolution, defect triage, and clarifications during development and testing phases.

• Communicate project updates, risks, and issues through structured reporting and governance meetings.

• Support project governance documentation, approvals, and change management processes.

• Ensure traceability from strategic goals through to requirements, design, and delivery.

• Develop and implement end-to-end financial test scenarios.

• Participate in User Acceptance Testing.

• Document testing results, manage defects, and assist in resolutions prior to deployment.

• Validate financial outcomes across integrated systems and downstream accounting, reporting, and reconciliation processes.

• Conduct post-release validation to confirm expected outcomes, adoption, and success metrics.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required.

• 5–10 years of experience as a Financial Systems Analyst or a similar role in a tech-focused organization.

• Over 5 years of experience in operational accounting and as a key user of SAP Finance.

• More than 5 years of experience in project management, financial systems integration, and cross-functional program delivery.

• Experience in developing business requirements, functional specifications, test cases, and release plans.

• Knowledge of Agile frameworks, user story creation, backlog management, and grooming practices.

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.

• Strong organizational skills and stakeholder management capabilities.

• Advanced analytical skills with the capacity to translate business needs into actionable project plans.

• Proficient in Confluence, JIRA, Zephyr, or similar project management and testing tools.

• Capability to drive process enhancements.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Preferred experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance, BRIM, RAR, CABS, or similar ERP/billing platforms.

• Experience with S4/HANA Finance modules, data analytics, reporting, customer lifecycle, and extensive application testing is a plus.

• Experience in the telecommunications sector is an additional advantage.
