This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Design and uphold database architectures that facilitate the extraction, storage, and analysis of financial data from Sub-Ledger and General Ledger systems.
• Create data models aimed at ensuring reconciliation, traceability, and auditability of financial transactions.
• Ensure database designs are conducive to scalability, performance, and data integrity.
• Develop and enhance data extraction processes from sub-ledger and general ledger source systems.
• Transform and normalize data to enable precise cross-system comparisons.
• Align the extracted data with accounting structures, chart of accounts, and reporting requirements.
• Construct automated or semi-automated tools for comparing sub-ledger and general ledger data.
• Design queries, views, and scripts to uncover discrepancies, variances, and anomalies.
• Facilitate drill-down capabilities that trace discrepancies back to source transactions.
• Implement data validation and reconciliation controls.
• Produce technical documentation that details database structures, extraction logic, assumptions, mappings, transformations, and comparison methodologies.
• Assist in the testing and validation of comparison tools to ensure audit reliability.
• Provide support to auditors and financial analysts with data extracts, comparison results, and technical insights.
• Over 5 years of pertinent experience in designing and managing databases for financial or audit-related analytics.
• Strong expertise in SQL and principles of database architecture.
• Experience in extracting, transforming, and reconciling data across various systems.
• Familiarity with financial systems, including Sub-Ledgers and General Ledger structures.
• Experience in regulated or audited financial environments is preferred.
• Background in supporting financial audits or initiatives aimed at audit readiness is preferred.
• Experience with extensive enterprise financial systems, such as ERP environments or DEAMS, is preferred.
• Experience in regulated, secure environments, including Department of Defense or other federal agency settings, is preferred.
• Detailed knowledge of AF Lines of Accounting and financial data elements.
• Understanding of accounting principles related to the integration of Sub-Ledger and General Ledger.
• Familiarity with various defense and financial systems/software is preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related IT discipline; or equivalent experience.
• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance is required.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Sponsorship is not available.
• Willingness to travel may be necessary depending on the role.
• Base pay range of $110,000–$150,000.
• Bonuses (when applicable).
