This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Take full ownership of the accounts function from start to finish, ensuring precise daily bookkeeping, month-end close by working day 5, management packs, rolling three-way forecasts, and 13-week cash forecasts.
• Reconcile daily bank and card accounts in AUD, USD, EUR, and other trading currencies; resolve exceptions on the same day.
• Input supplier invoices and conduct three-way matching for inventory purchases.
• Classify indirect expenses, prepare payment-run schedules for CEO approval, and manage supplier data, terms, prepayments, and settlement timing.
• Allocate customer receipts, issue statements, prepare overdue lists and reminder correspondence, and oversee customer credit limits in accordance with policy.
• Deliver a weekly customer exposure dashboard to the Customer Service Manager.
• Reconcile corporate cards and expenses, prepare payroll data, and balance superannuation and leave accounts.
• Record goods receipts and allocate landed costs; manage stock valuation, obsolete-stock provisions, and physical inventory reconciliations.
• Complete month-end reconciliations and schedules by working day 3 and finalize by working day 5.
• Generate monthly management packs that include P&L by brand/channel, balance sheet, cash flow, inventory days, DSO/DPO, and narrative assessments.
• Develop annual budgets, maintain rolling 12-month three-way forecasts, own the 13-week cash forecast, and lead variance analysis.
• Provide commercial insights on margins, costs, breakeven points, pricing, rebates, and supplier terms.
• Execute foreign exchange transactions, monitor open positions, and revalue foreign-currency balances on a monthly basis.
• Uphold financial controls, audit trails, segregation of duties, and delegation-of-authority processes.
• Prepare BAS, FBT, payroll tax, ASIC, and year-end working papers for Australian accountants, and manage their annual review.
• Oversee the NetSuite finance module, clean MYOB data, load opening balances, and configure accounts, roles, approvals, bank feeds, searches, and reports.
• Specify Power BI finance reporting and oversee AI-assisted workflows for reconciliation, collections, and report drafting.
• Document recurring processes.
• Line-manage the Procurement & Supply Chain Manager and approve out-of-budget purchase orders.
• Recruit, onboard, and lead the Senior Bookkeeper when necessary; train managers to take ownership of their financial numbers.
• Candidate must be based in the Philippines.
• Philippine CPA certification is mandatory.
• Minimum of 8 years in accounting, including at least 3 years within a product-based business (wholesale, distribution, import, retail, or manufacturing).
• Hands-on experience in inventory, landed-cost, and multi-currency accounting.
• Previous experience with an Australian or New Zealand business or client is required.
• Familiarity with BAS/GST coding, superannuation, payroll tax, and the 1 July–30 June financial year.
• Must have personally managed a monthly close from start to finish and produced a management pack for an owner or managing director.
• Experience in building or maintaining a budget and rolling three-way model (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Proven track record of conducting monthly variance reviews with operating managers.
• Hands-on experience with the NetSuite finance module, including AP, AR, bank reconciliation, and period close.
• Strongly preferred: Experience with NetSuite migration or data-cleansing projects.
• MYOB experience is a plus.
• Ability to make decisions on exceptions rather than escalating them.
• Experience in process documentation and using automation or AI tools in finance tasks.
• Strong written and spoken English skills.
• Comfort in presenting numbers to the CEO and management team, and ability to respectfully disagree in writing when necessary.
• Nice to have: Experience with NetSuite go-live and opening-balance reconciliation, NetSuite OneWorld/multi-subsidiary/consolidation, Power BI or NetSuite SuiteAnalytics, supervision of a bookkeeper or small finance team across different time zones, and knowledge of Australian customs/Deferred GST/import documentation.
