This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Take charge of the month-end close process for the entire Group.
• Oversee bookkeeping and month-end activities for operating subsidiaries located in the UK, Aruba, Curaçao, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic, along with various homeowner associations.
• Conduct monthly bank and balance-sheet reconciliations utilizing QuickBooks Online.
• Post and review both recurring and non-recurring journal entries.
• Finalize and secure QuickBooks Online after each month-end, with the ability to reopen only upon Finance Director approval.
• Review and validate the invoice coding, payment instructions, bank uploads, and draft journals prepared by remote bookkeepers.
• Advocate for the segregation of duties, approved-invoice controls, and independent approval processes.
• Mentor the team, identify consistent errors, and enhance processes.
• Supervise outsourced local accountants handling salary and tax calculations.
• Prepare annual accounts and statutory reports for homeowner associations in collaboration with local auditors and advisors.
• Maintain a compliance calendar across five different tax jurisdictions.
• Deliver accurate figures for management reporting, monthly finance reviews, and budgeting activities.
• Assist in the preparation of HOA budgets and address finance-related queries from HOA boards and owners.
• Manage ad hoc requests from banks, payment providers, and insurers, including KYC and reporting packs.
• Contribute to the development of an AI-enabled finance function through automation and documentation.
• Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent European qualification).
• A minimum of 5 years in accounting, including at least 2 years in a senior accountant, group accountant, or assistant controller role.
• Practical experience in managing month-end close and balance-sheet reconciliations for a multi-entity, multi-currency organization.
• Experience in reviewing the work of others and enforcing high standards within a team.
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online or a comparable cloud-based ledger (e.g., Xero, NetSuite, Sage Intacct).
• Comfortable overseeing external accountants and advisors across multiple jurisdictions.
• Availability to work during UK business hours.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.
• Organized, self-motivated, and able to maintain composure under deadlines in a fully remote environment.
• Preferred experience in hospitality, vacation rental, property management, or HOA/service-charge accounting.
• Familiarity with Caribbean or offshore tax systems is a plus.
• Experience in establishing accounting for new entities or entering new markets is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Dutch or Spanish is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Dext, Hostaway, or financial automation tools is preferred.
