Financial Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of financial operations, encompassing accounting, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, taxation, and statutory compliance.

• Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes while ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Establish and uphold internal controls, policies, and procedures to facilitate a growing business.

• Collaborate with the CFO and CEO on fundraising efforts, investor communications, and board presentations.

• Create forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning models to support swift growth.

• Manage cash flow and working capital while optimizing cost control and resource allocation.

• Supervise external relationships with auditors, tax consultants, and banking institutions.

• Recruit and nurture a high-performing finance team as the organization expands.

• Assist with mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, and strategic investment initiatives.

• Partner with the executive team, investors, and department leaders to enhance financial health, visibility, and strategic decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).

• Possess 5–8+ years of finance experience, including at least 2–3 years in a controller or comparable leadership position.

• Experience in a high-growth or investment-supported environment (ideal for startups or scale-ups).

• Demonstrated strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise (IFRS/GAAP).

• Hands-on, systems-oriented, and adept at building processes from the ground up.

• Commercially savvy, strategic thinker with exceptional attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• Prior experience with VC/PE-backed companies or readiness for IPO.

• Familiarity with SaaS, fintech, tech sectors, or other rapidly scaling industries.

• Proficient with financial systems and tools (e.g., NetSuite, Xero, QuickBooks, FP&A platforms).
