This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +12 more states.
• Process, reconcile, and publish monthly results for Cost Accounting.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure accurate data interactions and address existing issues.
• Research software updates and implement improvements where necessary.
• Assist Service Line Leaders and Senior Directors with the development and enhancement of service lines, as well as performance projects.
• Promote a consistent and system-wide approach to service lines across various facilities.
• Prepare, validate, and analyze financial information on a monthly and daily basis.
• Utilize Labor Productivity and Cost Accounting systems to provide valuable insights.
• Provide insights on service line performance and offer recommendations to support decision-making.
• Identify and coordinate initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, optimizing revenue, and transforming costs.
• Employ cost accounting and service line reporting in financial analysis and modeling.
• Create reports and analyses for financial modeling, cost and revenue assessments, operational benchmarking, ad-hoc inquiries, and performance improvement.
• Effectively communicate complex financial concepts to all levels of leadership.
• Strive for continuous improvement of metrics and assist leaders in understanding the impacts of healthcare costs.
• Support standardized work for systems and processes.
• Consolidate operational input to formulate operational budgets.
• Aid in the development of the long-range financial plan and operating budget.
• Advocate for Lean continuous improvement principles and promote organizational change.
• Ensure operations are safe, professional, confidential, ethical, and compliant.
• Provide timely, efficient, and accurate customer service and/or patient care.
• Perform additional duties of similar complexity as assigned.
• Bachelor of Science degree, ideally in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in finance.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in document preparation.
• Valid driver's license from Oregon and the ability to comply with SCHS driving requirements.
• Willingness to travel to business functions, training sessions, meetings, and all SCHS worksites.
• Capability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• HFMA membership and certification are preferred.
• Experience in healthcare finance is preferred.
• Familiarity with cost accounting design and maintenance, clinical data systems, and rolling forecasts is preferred.
