This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assess documentation related to student financial aid eligibility and create precise financial aid award packages for both prospective and current students.
• Enforce financial aid policies while ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations, audit standards, and organizational policies.
• Evaluate applications and supporting documents to establish financial aid eligibility.
• Complete verification processes as mandated by federal regulations and address quality assurance and comment (C) codes.
• Liaise with admissions and advising teams to gather any outstanding student documentation.
• Maintain a minimum completion rate for award packages on a weekly basis.
• Stay updated in the financial aid sector through ongoing professional development.
• Accurately represent the organization and follow up with prospective students, enrolled students, the business community, and high school officials.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues, particularly those in admissions and advising roles.
• Develop award packages based on the documentation provided.
• Adhere to processes that enhance the awarding and delivery of aid programs.
• Review and certify private loan applications on a weekly basis.
• Accurately and promptly track financial awards, approvals, payments, and associated documentation.
• Attend team meetings and participate in Student Financial Aid department meetings.
• Engage in lean processes and contribute to strategic planning initiatives.
• Support the organization's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Report directly to the Manager of Financial Aid Processing and Awarding; there are no direct reports.
• An Associate degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field is required; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• A minimum of one to three years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, ideally in a financial aid, finance counseling, or loan processing environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills along with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills; capable of prioritizing and handling multiple responsibilities with minimal oversight.
• Ability to maintain records and files with meticulous attention to detail.
• High degree of professionalism and telephone etiquette.
• Exceptional customer service capabilities.
• Strong mathematical aptitude.
• General familiarity with the higher education sector is preferred, though not required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Preferred working knowledge of financial software, specifically CampusNexus.
• Strong command of the English language in both oral and written forms.
• Must retain eligibility to access the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS), with no past or current student loan defaults.
