Financial Accounting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the monthly closing process for the UK balance sheet.

• Gain insights into transaction flows and revenue streams.

• Collaborate closely with the UK commercial team to ensure financial activities remain aligned.

• Spearhead the initiative to create a retail customer onboarding playbook.

• Establish the essential requirements and non-negotiables for onboarding key retail partners.

• Supervise one direct report.

• Engage as a member of the senior Financial Operations leadership team.

• Work in partnership with Financial Accounting Manager peers in Australia and the US/Canada, as well as with the AR/AP lead.

• Review and approve UK balance sheet reconciliations prior to the month-end close.

• Address revenue-channel inquiries alongside the UK commercial team.

• Utilize AI tools to enhance the efficiency of reporting tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience managing the month-end closing process from beginning to end.

• Solid understanding of balance sheets and profit and loss statements.

• Capability to identify results that deviate from budget or expectations.

• Proficiency in articulating financial outcomes to commercial stakeholders and the CFO.

• Skill in addressing process challenges and delivering direct feedback in a clear and considerate manner.

• Ability to juggle competing deadlines related to closing schedules, projects, and direct reports.

• Competence in appropriately escalating risks.

• Dedication to purpose-driven work and making a positive impact on the world.

• Capability or willingness to utilize AI tools like Claude or Gemini for reporting tasks.
