Financial Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Prepare recurring monthly journal entries, which encompass bank fees, currency conversions (USD to EUR), net salaries, tax payments, refunds, and specialized VAT/tax journals.

• Conduct thorough reconciliations for all bank accounts and manage bank statements related to various financial transactions.

• Implement Fixed Asset Management and perform general Balance Sheet reconciliations.

• Handle standard accruals, including those for interest and Corporate Income Tax.

• Oversee the complete Accounts Payable process, which includes payment files, bill credits, and bank submissions.

• Review VAT codes and grant final accounting approval for standalone invoices.

• Carry out reconciliations for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, along with VAT verifications.

• Issue payment reminders for overdue accounts.

• Provide holiday coverage as the backup for the Accounts Receivable application for approximately 5 weeks each year.

• Supervise daily bank statements and manage general outgoing payments.

• Process manual payment requests, such as loans, interest, and intercompany transfers.

• Execute corporate payments, including advance tax, VAT, and employer contributions.

• Manage VAT processes, which include data handling, calculations, postings, VAT returns, and EU Sales declarations.

• Address correspondence and decisions from local Tax Authorities and manage pertinent tax consulting tasks.

• Collect data for local statutory reporting and submit finalized statutory reports.

• Perform year-end closing activities and prepare FINGAAP financial statements.

• Manage related Year-End Tasks and general financial consulting.

• Conduct final VAT reviews and approve employee travel and expense claims.

• Review and process travel claims and employee pay slips.

• Report taxable expense claims and manage non-taxable allowances.

• Ensure accurate and timely payroll and expense data transfers to the core accounting system.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in General Accounting.

• ACA or ACCA qualified.

• Experience in building globally-distributed systems.

• Strong grasp of Accounting best practices.

• Expertise in VAT and Tax matters.

• Comfortable with learning and adapting to new technologies in a dynamic environment.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Strong time management skills and a self-motivated work ethic.
