Finance Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Vietnam.

📋 Description

• Take charge of enhancing NetSuite order-to-cash workflows, covering customer and sales-order data through invoicing, payments, credits, refunds, reconciliation, and close support.

• Configure, diagnose, and securely extend NetSuite using SuiteScript 2.x, SuiteFlow, transaction forms, saved searches, SuiteAnalytics, and invoice templates.

• Design, develop, and maintain observable, recoverable, and reconciled integrations and data flows utilizing APIs, webhooks, iPaaS, workflow, or scripting tools.

• Lead inquiries into financial-system incidents and data-quality challenges, pinpoint root causes, restore dependable operation, and minimize repetitive manual tasks.

• Direct requirements gathering and technical design alongside Finance, Accounting, Tax, and RevOps; translate operational needs into actionable system modifications with defined ownership and controls.

• Assist in billing, payment, tax, and reconciliation processes while escalating accounting or tax-policy decisions to the responsible Finance or Tax owner.

• Oversee test strategy and release preparedness; gather user-acceptance evidence and keep documentation, monitoring, and runbooks up to date.

• Recognize and implement AI-assisted enhancements to analysis and testing; collaborate with finance to introduce low-risk automation and agents without circumventing approvals, human review, or financial controls.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of four years of experience in finance systems, business systems, SaaS operations, or integration engineering.

• Practical experience with NetSuite, demonstrating a solid understanding of operational finance and order-to-cash processes, along with evidence of independently managing a complex workflow from start to finish.

• Experience in designing and supporting APIs, webhooks, integrations, or workflow automation within a production environment.

• Familiarity with invoices, payments, refunds, reconciliation, revenue dates, multi-currency considerations, and the downstream effects of system modifications.

• Experience in supporting indirect-tax processes and tax-system integrations, such as Vertex or a similar tax engine.

• A systematic approach to testing, exception handling, documentation, and operational support.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills to engage with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

• Good judgment regarding when changes require finance approval, tax guidance, peer review, or a controlled release.

• Demonstrated technical judgment, ownership, and a pragmatic instinct for transforming ambiguous operational challenges into sustainable improvements.
