This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Deliver financial management assistance within a shared services unit for Florida and Georgia.
• Collaborate with the Finance Manager, Finance Director, and personnel from the business unit.
• Supervise and administer accounts payable and vendor management.
• Facilitate budgeting, forecasting, financial closing, reporting, and management activities.
• Prepare and present financial reports, analyses, reconciliations, and additional financial outputs.
• Track financial performance and pinpoint trends, variances, risks, and opportunities.
• Relay insights and suggestions to Finance Managers, Finance Directors, and business executives.
• Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and quality of financial data, reporting, systems, and processes.
• Aid in adherence to policies, internal controls, audit requirements, donor restrictions, and regulatory mandates.
• Offer guidance and training to staff on financial processes, systems, reporting tools, and procedures.
• Collaborate with Operations, Conservation, and Philanthropy teams on financial planning and organizational objectives.
• Participate in finance initiatives, process enhancements, system implementations, and cross-departmental projects.
• Address moderately complex financial inquiries and facilitate informed decision-making.
• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline, coupled with 3 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination.
• Proficiency in accounting/financial issues and analysis.
• Experience utilizing accounting and financial reporting systems.
• Technical skill with spreadsheet applications, general ledger reports, and financial management tools.
• Familiarity with GAAP, practices, and regulations.
• Knowledge, coursework, or training in U.S. Federal Uniform Guidance, state and local regulations, multilateral and international regulations, and standard contract clauses, as applicable.
• Capability to manipulate, analyze, and interpret data.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organizational abilities.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Experience in non-profit accounting.
• Technical expertise in complex accounting/financial issues may be necessary.
• Experience with U.S. government grants accounting.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Compliance with TNC’s Auto Safety Program.
• Completion of a Vehicle Use Agreement, which may involve a motor vehicle record review.
