Finance Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and maintain the financial model, which encompasses budgeting, rolling forecasts, and scenario planning for revenue, headcount, and expenditures.

• Collaborate with department heads on budget-to-actuals, headcount strategies, and expenditure assessments.

• Manage the monthly financial close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals, ensuring delivery of precise financial reports on a consistent schedule.

• Uphold GAAP-compliant financial records and work alongside external accountants and auditors as Vesta expands.

• Oversee accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and cash management functions, including vendor payments, customer invoicing, and ongoing cash flow oversight.

• Assess and deploy financial tools as the organization transitions beyond spreadsheets.

• Establish documented procedures for financial close, forecasting, and reporting activities.

• Act as Vesta's inaugural dedicated finance hire and develop the finance function during a period of significant growth.

⛳️ Requirements

• A finance generalist with experience in closing the books and creating board-level financial models.

• Capability to manage the financial records comprehensively from start to finish.

• Background in budgeting, rolling forecasts, and scenario planning for revenue, headcount, and expenditures.

• Familiarity with budget-to-actuals, headcount strategies, and expenditure evaluations.

• Proficiency in the monthly closing process, encompassing journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.

• Understanding of GAAP-compliant bookkeeping practices.

• Experience working with external accountants and auditors.

• Ability to manage AP, AR, and cash operations effectively.

• Competence in evaluating and implementing financial tools as well as establishing documented processes.

• Optional: Experience in a high-growth, venture-backed SaaS organization.

• Optional: Proficiency with QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar financial tools, as well as BI/spreadsheet applications.

• Optional: Experience in supporting fundraising efforts or directly reporting to a board.

• Optional: Background in mortgage, fintech, or B2B SaaS industries.

• Must reside in the United States.
