This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Prepare precise monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for various Serefin entities, encompassing consolidated reporting.
• Conduct monthly account reconciliations, accruals, and analysis of the general ledger.
• Develop monthly financial reporting packages that include variance analysis compared to budget, forecasts, and results from previous years.
• Evaluate financial performance, trends, risks, and opportunities, offering recommendations to management.
• Create and sustain annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term plans.
• Generate ad hoc financial analyses and reports to support business initiatives and strategic decisions.
• Work alongside operational leaders to deliver financial insights.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial processes, reporting, and internal controls.
• Assist in assessing business performance through KPIs and financial metrics.
• Prepare corporate income tax returns and supporting schedules for various legal entities.
• Aid in interim and annual external audits by creating working papers and addressing auditor inquiries.
• Uphold accounting procedures, internal controls, and documentation for process improvements.
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities for automation, streamlining, and enhancement of financial reporting and analysis.
• Engage in finance transformation and system enhancement initiatives.
• Contribute to additional finance projects and responsibilities as assigned.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Accounting designation in progress (CPA), or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.
• 3-5 years of pertinent accounting, financial analysis, and reporting experience.
• Experience with complex ownership structures.
• Independent preparation and submission of T2 corporate tax returns.
• Experience with SRED.
• Familiarity with NetSuite, Expensify, and Payworks is advantageous.
• Experience in mergers and acquisitions.
• International expansion experience is a plus.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including the ability to create complex templates and formulas.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
