This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nigeria.
• Accurately and promptly process vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and various payment requests.
• Prepare and carry out payment runs in alignment with approval protocols and cash flow timelines.
• Maintain appropriate documentation and filing for all financial transactions to facilitate audits and regulatory assessments.
• Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and swiftly investigate any discrepancies.
• Reconcile intercompany accounts, claims payments, premium collections, and provider settlements.
• Review and confirm data entries in accounting systems to guarantee accuracy and completeness.
• Assist in compiling monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management evaluation.
• Aid in the month-end and year-end closing processes by completing assigned tasks within set deadlines.
• Compile necessary schedules and documentation for financial statements and regulatory submissions.
• Ensure compliance of all transactions with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory mandates.
• Assist both internal and external auditors by supplying requested documentation and clarifications.
• Identify unusual transactions or policy breaches and report them to senior finance team members.
• Respond promptly and professionally to internal inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account balances.
• Provide support for special projects and perform ad hoc financial analyses as required.
• Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and management reports.
• Engage in month-end and year-end closing activities, which include journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations (bank and credit card).
• Ensure the timely and accurate processing of payments, invoices, and other financial transactions for employees, vendors, and partners.
• Maintain precise financial records and documentation to support audit, tax, and internal review processes.
• Ensure adherence to relevant financial regulations and standards, such as GAAP or IFRS.
• Assist in providing financial data and analyses that support business decision-making and strategic planning.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to facilitate the successful completion of audits.
• A Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Completion of NYSC or possession of a valid exemption letter is required.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a comparable position.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, vlookups, and data manipulation.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and the financial closing process.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and juggle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Nice to Have:
• Experience in healthcare, insurance, fintech, or a regulated sector.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
• Exposure to reconciliations related to claims, premiums, or provider payments.
• Professional certification or progress toward ICAN or ACCA.
