This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Collect and evaluate financial data, organizing it into easily accessible reports.
• Conduct financial analyses utilizing key metrics and provide support for forecasting.
• Manage financial transactions, including purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and Pcard transactions.
• Oversee expenditures and tracking for Special Projects and Initiative Funding.
• Collaborate with departments and project leaders to assess spending, timelines, reimbursements, and accounting practices.
• Generate monthly financial reports that include variance analysis and recommendations to address negative trends.
• Adjust financial forecasts based on evolving business conditions.
• Develop operating and capital budgets, financial forecasts, statements, reports, and projections.
• Monitor project commitments and expenses, investigate discrepancies, and conduct reconciliations.
• Provide cost-benefit analyses for both existing and new programs.
• Create purchase orders, labor distributions, journal entries, ledger reconciliations, Oracle and Pcard requests, and expense documentation.
• Supervise and resolve open purchase orders and invoices that are on hold.
• Authorize and process disbursements, reimbursements, Pcard reconciliations, invoice payments, and departmental purchases.
• Offer oral and written financial guidance and recommendations to directors, managers, and project leads.
• Execute other related responsibilities as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
• For related fields, completion of 36 hours of accounting coursework from an accredited college or university.
• At least 2 years of progressively responsible relevant work experience.
• Highly skilled in computer applications, including database and spreadsheet software.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, such as GAAP.
• Previous experience in an Academic Health Center or relevant financial roles focusing on analysis for operational improvements and business cases.
• Intermediate skills in spreadsheet applications, including complex functions, formulas, and formatting.
• Familiarity with relational databases.
• Knowledge of financial reporting concepts, including cost accounting and net present value analysis.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for consulting with both internal and external stakeholders on sensitive issues.
• Ability to perform job responsibilities with or without accommodations.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of directly related experience.
• Preferred: Proficiency in Oracle and Cognos/Rubix, including General Ledger, iProcurement, and Labor Distribution.
• Preferred: Experience with central funding, allocations, and state funding.
• Preferred: Familiarity with OHSU Fiscal Policies and Procedures.
• Regular full-time position.
