Finance Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver OPEX support to the Splunk Product Organization

• Assist Engineering leadership in prioritization and decision-making

• Aid in portfolio planning, annual budgeting, quarterly commitment processes, month-end and quarterly closing activities, forecasting, reporting, variance analysis, and compliance

• Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management leadership, HR, talent acquisition, and accounting to establish best practices

• Model headcount expenses and discretionary spending

• Identify opportunities and recommend adjustments to spending based on team priorities

• Enhance forecasting accuracy through improved data analytics and cross-functional collaboration

• Support monthly closing processes, including accruals, variance analysis, and approvals for POs, invoices, and requisitions

• Conduct ad-hoc analyses

• Evaluate GAAP and Cisco accounting policy effects on expense forecasts

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related business field with over 3 years of demonstrated experience

• Proficient in Excel at an intermediate level

• Skilled in finance ERPs and financial planning software, such as Oracle Hyperion Essbase, NetSuite, or Anaplan

• Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication capabilities

• Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail

• Previous experience in OpEx or COGS is preferred

• Experience in a SaaS business environment

• Capability to drive process enhancements and automation
