Field Support Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Provide support for the Daikin product range, including FIT Side Discharge and RA_QA systems.

• Supervise the installation of Daikin HVAC products to ensure they are set up correctly and operate successfully.

• Conduct and assess Manual J and D reports to verify the appropriateness of HVAC system designs.

• Offer technical assistance through phone, XOi, and email to field teams and contractors.

• Address field-related issues concerning system design, installation difficulties, or product performance.

• Provide on-site technical support.

• Prepare comprehensive field service reports that document pertinent information and solutions.

• Establish and commission control systems, which includes refrigerant charging, equipment addressing, operational modifications, and field configurations.

• Facilitate training sessions for distributors and dealers on installation techniques, system commissioning, control setup, and troubleshooting.

• Gather and analyze system performance data using Daikin’s proprietary diagnostic tools.

• Offer solution-oriented feedback to customers.

• Educate customers on system operation, maintenance, and control scheduling.

• Execute direct installation, servicing, or support of Daikin systems as needed.

• Report directly to the Manager of Division Technical Services.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of practical installation and technical service experience in the HVAC sector.

• In-depth knowledge of refrigeration, airflow dynamics, HVAC principles, and system configurations.

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities; capable of engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders.

• Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Ability to clearly explain technical concepts, challenges, and solutions.

• Demonstrated technical knowledge to clarify HVAC product functionality to end-users and technicians.

• Strong planning, organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

• Excellent documentation capabilities and the ability to resolve issues swiftly and efficiently.

• Valid driver's license (mandatory).

• Candidates must be legally eligible for employment in the United States.

• Candidates will not require employer-sponsored work authorization now or in the future for employment in the United States.

• Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

• Significant travel, up to 75%, and work in settings such as attics, rooftops, and crawlspaces is required.

• An Associate’s degree is highly preferred.

• Industry certifications like EPA/RSES, NATE, Title 24 expertise, or a California contractor license are preferred.

• A decade of installation experience is preferred.
