This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Deliver responsive and professional field support to both existing customers and potential clients.

• Conduct plant surveys, system evaluations, troubleshooting, and pretreatment assessments.

• Gather samples of water, membranes, deposits, and other materials for laboratory analysis.

• Assist with the removal and offloading of membranes for autopsies when necessary.

• Execute and support the cleaning of membrane systems, chemical changeovers, commissioning, start-ups, and system optimization.

• Commission, operate, monitor, clean, and maintain AWC pilot systems at customer locations.

• Observe membrane system performance and operational data, relaying findings and recommendations to Applications and Technical Sales.

• Provide technical assistance regarding the operation of membrane systems, chemical programs, cleaning, and maintenance.

• Develop and sustain relationships with plant operators and customer personnel.

• Follow up on field visits and the recommendations made during those visits.

• Recognize and communicate customer needs, system issues, and opportunities for additional technical services or chemical solutions.

• Prepare for field visits, ensuring that documentation, tools, equipment, chemicals, and materials are adequately ready.

• Complete and distribute field service reports, recommendations, and customer sign-off documentation.

• Collaborate with Technical Sales, Applications, Inside Sales, and Field Services teams.

• Carry out field activities in accordance with AWC procedures, safety guidelines, and company standards.

• Represent AWC in a professional manner at customer and prospect locations.

• Participate in company training programs.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, or a technical certification from an accredited program, or over 5 years of experience in water treatment/wastewater.

• A solid understanding of membrane technology and water treatment processes, including pretreatment, MF/UF, and NF/RO systems.

• Practical experience in operating, troubleshooting, commissioning, servicing, and optimizing membrane treatment systems.

• Familiarity with pumps, valves, instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems related to water treatment equipment.

• Strong mechanical skills with the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve field issues effectively.

• Knowledge of membrane fouling, scaling, pretreatment, and chemical cleaning processes.

• Hands-on experience executing NF/RO Clean-in-Place procedures; MF/UF CIP experience is a plus.

• Capability to interpret operational data and analyze system performance.

• Experience in using, maintaining, and calibrating field testing equipment and instrumentation.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare technical reports.

• Professional and customer-focused, skilled in building effective relationships.

• Highly organized, resourceful, and capable of working independently while adjusting to changing field conditions and travel requirements.

• A valid driver's license and the willingness to travel frequently, including overnight trips.

• Moderate to extensive overnight travel within the territory (40–60%) and occasional travel across multiple states.

• Ability to stand, walk, and be active for extended periods, up to 8+ hours each day.

• Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, and climbing ladders or stairs are required.

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.

• Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination are essential.

• Capacity to work in confined spaces, elevated areas, or outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Ability to wear and work in required personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Competence in safely handling and working around cleaning, sampling, and maintenance chemicals.

• Visual and auditory ability to identify hazards, read instruments and gauges, and communicate effectively on-site.

• Willingness to travel frequently and work extended hours or weekends as necessary, including on short notice.
