Field Support Engineer III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Installs, maintains, upgrades, and conducts preventative maintenance on specified Carl Zeiss Meditec instruments within a designated field service area.

• Acts as a representative of Carl Zeiss Meditec at customer sites, striving to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

• Diagnoses and repairs designated products in an assigned service territory, which includes preventative maintenance, installations, and upgrades.

• Plans, organizes, verifies, and/or adjusts customer visits based on their needs.

• Completes and submits daily field service reports in accordance with established procedures.

• Completes and submits weekly expense reports following company policies and guidelines.

• Manages spare parts inventory and returns designated spare parts as necessary.

• Contributes to revenue growth by promoting and retaining service agreements.

• Maintains professional communication with both internal and external customers.

• Addresses challenging customer issues while adhering to established customer service standards.

• Ensures effective territory management and controls expenses.

• May assist in training and mentoring new employees.

• Builds robust relationships with key customers.

• Supports trade shows by installing and maintaining equipment as required.

• Provides instruction to customers on the operation and maintenance of equipment when needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Electronics, Fine Mechanics, Electro-mechanical, Optics, Data Management, including Networking or Medical Field Service.

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Computer Technology, computer networks, or related fields is preferred.

• A+ and Net+ certifications along with a comprehensive knowledge of ophthalmic anatomy are preferred.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

• Proficient computer skills are required; certifications are preferred.

• Must be able to complete required training for servicing fine mechanics and optics.

• Capability to effectively service assigned equipment is necessary.

• Proficiency in managing multiple projects and time effectively is required.

• Experience with various CZM product lines is essential.

• Must possess a thorough understanding of schematics and complex technical data.

• A basic understanding of ophthalmic anatomy and eye diseases, such as CCOA certification or equivalent, is preferred.
