This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• Execute pre-commissioning, commissioning, servicing, and troubleshooting of Static Frequency Converters (SFCs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), low- and medium-voltage drives, switchgear, transformers, and power systems.
• Offer technical support, direction, and supervision to customers during installation, commissioning, and service processes.
• Perform on-site analysis and interpretation of operational data while providing technical guidance to customers and site personnel.
• Deliver accurate and timely reports to management concerning safety, project and service status, customer issues, equipment concerns, and failures.
• Provide on-site training and guidance on the proper operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of assigned equipment and systems.
• Assist the Quality team in conducting root cause analyses and generating reports related to equipment failures and malfunctions to identify and analyze negative trends.
• Complete necessary site documentation, including weekly safety reports, installation checklists, pre-commissioning records, commissioning reports, and service documentation.
• Carry out hands-on replacement, testing, verification, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment and systems in the field.
• Comply with company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
• Communicate with customers, contractors, colleagues, and management in a clear, professional, and methodical manner.
• Trade-qualified Electrician or a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Strong understanding of power electronics, electrical circuits, electrical power systems, medium-voltage equipment, and harmonic analysis.
• Excellent hands-on technical skills.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Practical experience using electrical test equipment such as data recorders, power analyzers, oscilloscopes, insulation resistance testers, and Hi-Pot test equipment.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for short assignments, often on short notice.
• Solid understanding of Health and Safety requirements and the hazards and risks associated with industrial electrical systems.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and coordinate tasks with colleagues and stakeholders.
• Valid driver's license and capability to obtain site-specific certifications and clearances as needed.
• Experience with PLCs and proficiency in at least one programming language.
• Background in commissioning, servicing, or troubleshooting power conversion systems, drives, switchgear, or power generation equipment.
• Comfortable working on marine vessels and remaining offshore for extended periods when necessary.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
• Demonstrated analytical problem-solving abilities and the capability to drive continuous quality improvement.
• Ability to build and maintain robust customer relationships.
• Capability to interface effectively at all organizational levels.
• Willingness to monitor, read, and respond to communications outside normal working hours.
• Extensive travel (90%+) within the home country and internationally, providing exposure to a variety of projects, customers, and technologies.
