Field Service Technician – Power Generation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +45 more states.

📋 Description

• Diagnose and carry out less complex repairs on generators and their components at customer locations.

• Execute repair tasks on generators or components.

• Interact with customers in a respectful and professional manner.

• Conduct maintenance and repairs utilizing diagnostic tools.

• Keep detailed service records.

• Comply with Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies.

• Participate in the after-hours on-call rotation.

• Maintain personal tools.

• Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, minor to mid-level repairs, rebuilds, and preventative maintenance on power generation systems, parts, and components at customer sites.

• Improve service workshop knowledge and skills through established procedures and guidelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• A current valid driver's license is mandatory.

• Five-year motor vehicle report free of major violations is required.

• Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.

• Minimum of three years of driving experience.

• Adhere to DOT driving regulations, including Hours of Service and the use of Electronic Log Booking Devices.

• Applicants must be at least 21 years old.

• Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution is needed.

• Current relevant electrical certification is required.

• Must possess a locally valid driving permit.

• Experience in basic-level field service work is necessary.

• Intermediate-level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products is essential.

• High Voltage/Low Voltage experience is required.

• Customer service experience is a must.

• Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance skills are required.

• Basic knowledge of Diesel Engine systems is necessary.

• Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing generators, transfer switches, and auxiliary components.

• Ability to conduct repairs on ATS systems and commission new ATS installations.
