Experienced Mechanical Field Engineer – Gas and Steam Turbine

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee, execute, and coordinate site operations.

• Conduct on-site installation of systems and equipment.

• Carry out preventive maintenance, repairs, and calibrations post-installation.

• Address emergency repairs and services for malfunctioning equipment.

• Offer technical guidance and support to customer representatives.

• Draft technical reports, procure materials, obtain quotations, and compile job status, customer, timesheet, and expense reports.

• Authorize all implemented modifications.

• Enhance customer satisfaction through a dedication to quality.

• Uphold safety standards as per GE requirements.

• Diagnose and perform routine maintenance checks for a diverse range of equipment vintages.

• Coach, mentor, and train team members.

• Create technical reports for customer documentation and future outages.

• Ensure necessary parts are delivered to the site.

• Conduct installation walk-downs to verify contractor work.

• Execute aftermarket upgrades at the site level.

• Travel extensively for projects and field assignments.

• Undertake additional duties aligned with FieldCore’s vision and core values.


⛳️ Requirements

• Technical or University degree or equivalent experience OR a High School Diploma/GED with at least 4 years in a Field Services role.

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in field services or maintenance of power generation equipment.

• Successful completion of required level III training programs is essential.

• Strong technical skills in reading and interpreting electrical/mechanical flow and instrument diagrams.

• Proficiency in dial and laser alignment as well as thermal growth equipment.

• Willingness to travel extensively to various projects and field assignments.

• Proficiency in English is required.

• Experience and training with Alstom, Siemens, or other OEM equipment.

• Extensive experience in Field Engineering Services.

• Excellent organizational and project management abilities.

• Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

• Solid business acumen and capability to promote GE products to customers.

• Willingness to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as necessitated by field assignments.
