This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.
• Assist the Field Service Organization in the deployment and maintenance of essential digital mobile communication systems.
• Install, enhance, and repair infrastructure, public safety loggers, subscribers, microwaves, computers, servers, and networking equipment.
• Offer technical assistance for specialized systems and product applications.
• Diagnose issues with software-driven electronics and provision communication system infrastructure.
• Enhance RF and broadband architecture, encompassing legacy analog, advanced digital P25, and data infrastructure.
• Maintain, enhance, test, document, and support intricate communication systems.
• Carry out preventative maintenance, trend analysis, and documentation duties.
• Create solutions for challenging technical problems that arise during maintenance, upgrades, and support tasks.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Sales, Customer Service, Field Engineers, System Managers, and Service Partners.
• Submit weekly reports detailing activities and achievements.
• Maintain server hardware, operating systems, and software infrastructure while resolving system/application issues.
• Provide direction for integrating new tools and solutions into team operations.
• Support mission-critical systems through a 24/7/365 on-call service.
• Associate's degree in technology or a related field OR relevant industry certifications.
• Must be a U.S. citizen capable of obtaining necessary security clearance as mandated by government contracts.
• Legal authorization for indefinite work in the U.S. is required; employer work permit sponsorship is not provided.
• Must pass a comprehensive fingerprint background check in accordance with the CJIS Security Policy.
• Familiarity with RF systems, wired/wireless communication systems, networking equipment, and IT networks.
• Understanding of wired/wireless communications systems, including LAN and WAN.
• Knowledge of standard telephony, dedicated data circuits, and packet-switching methodologies.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
• Experience with the configuration and testing of channel banks, routers, hubs, and switches.
• Ability to develop and deliver technical training.
• FCC license and industry certifications such as ETA are advantageous.
• Willingness to travel 50-75% of the time.
