Field Service Technician – Commissioning

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Travel to new markets or installations.

• Prepare systems for their initial startup.

• Oversee installations through final acceptance testing for customer load connection.

• Offer customers technical expertise on fuel cell system maintenance, site upkeep, safety observations, and troubleshooting.

• Assist with PSV and commissioning activities in the home market.

• Travel to additional markets to support commissioning when the home market's demands are lower.

• Support regular Field Service Technician activities within the home market.

• Manage both internal and external communications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Electrical experience is mandatory; troubleshooting and repair skills are essential.

• Strong mechanical aptitude, along with troubleshooting and repair skills; familiarity with mechanical systems, piping, plumbing, and valve operations is preferred.

• Previous electrician experience with 3-phase systems, UPS systems, maintenance, electrical generation and distribution systems, power electronics, Automatic Transfer Switch Systems, or microprocessor-based control platforms is highly advantageous.

• Experience with test and measurement equipment, electrical codes, and safety products and procedures for personnel is required.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical single-line diagrams and blueprints.

• Experience in performing equipment maintenance according to ANSI/NETA standards for Electrical Power.

• Basic understanding of safe working requirements.

• Capability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Ability to follow both written and verbal procedures as well as sequenced work instructions.

• Physical ability to lift 45–50 lbs.

• Capacity to facilitate 24x7 operations and on-call duties as required.

• Willingness to travel domestically for at least two weeks at a time, up to 70% as necessary.

• High school diploma with 9 years of experience in the electrical field; or a technical diploma, Journeyman Certification, or Electrician Certification in a technical field with 5 years of relevant industry experience; or 5 years of electrical-related military experience and 2 years of relevant commercial electrical experience.

• Active driver’s license and a minimum of 5 years of driving experience.

• Experience in data center or other critical power installations is desired.
