
Field Service Technician – Commercial Roofing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Serve as the main trainer for on-roof quality inspections and in-shop contractor training for new Technical Services staff.
• Act as a liaison with the contractor community for IKO’s new US commercial roofing division.
• Conduct quality control inspections to ensure quality workmanship on installations covered by IKO warranties.
• Educate and train new Field Service Technicians in on-roof inspections and in-shop contractor training.
• Provide reports on trainee performance and progress to the Technical Manager, Single Ply Systems.
• Collaborate with commercial contractors and carry out quality assurance inspections on ongoing and finalized commercial roofing projects.
• Develop and deliver both theoretical and practical commercial product training for current and prospective Registered Contractors.
• Create written inspection and quality assurance reports for both internal and external clients.
• Partner with contractors and the distribution network to enhance product education and promotion.
• Investigate warranty claims when necessary.
• Participate in association events to advocate for IKO Commercial products.
• Attend internal meetings, functions, and company-sponsored training sessions.
• Comply with Health and Safety regulations and IKO Vehicle policies.
• Perform additional assigned duties.
• Minimum of 3 years of direct, hands-on experience in the commercial roofing sector.
• Extensive background in training on single-ply roofing techniques (TPO and PVC) adhering to established standards and practices.
• Familiarity with quality assurance and roof inspections in collaboration with roofing contractors.
• Proficient in reading technical roofing documentation and specifications.
• Highly skilled at demonstrating and presenting product applications, whether hands-on or in a presentation format.
• Proven ability to train both individuals and groups in single-ply roofing techniques.
• Strong commitment to quality workmanship while fostering lasting customer relationships.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capability to work with contractors and effectively present the advantages of IKO commercial products.
• Adaptable to shifting priorities and responsibilities.
• Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Willingness to travel within the designated territory, potentially including overnight stays.
• Frequent travel and site visits may be necessary.
