Field Service Technician, Class C

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Perform precise mechanical tasks in high-voltage electrical substations across various geographical locations under the supervision of senior technicians.

• Collaborate closely with seasoned Field Service Technicians to gain knowledge in transformer maintenance, service procedures, and troubleshooting methods.

• Utilize technical, mechanical, or military-acquired skills in practical field service applications.

• Carry out equipment inspections and diagnostic evaluations to aid in preventive maintenance initiatives.

• Support the servicing and repair of transformer systems following established protocols and tools.

• Develop skills to analyze technical data and apply insights to address critical customer issues.

• Operate Vacuum Oil Processors (VOPs) and oil handling equipment with appropriate training and supervision.

• Keep accurate processing records and assist in transformer testing activities.

• Make use of digital tools and software platforms for documentation and site reporting.

• Work in conjunction with engineering teams, senior field personnel, and customers to enhance maintenance strategies.

• Adhere to all relevant safety, environmental, and internal procedures.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED along with 2+ years of relevant professional experience in technical or mechanical domains.

• Equivalent military training or experience is highly regarded and encouraged.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.

• Willingness to travel up to 85% nationwide.

• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and undertake physically demanding tasks for extended durations.

• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions for up to 12 hours a day.

• Candidate must already have work authorization to be employed by Hitachi Energy in the United States.

• Class A CDL is preferred for operating specialized service vehicles.

• Welding certification or experience is advantageous for enhanced field capabilities.
