Field Service Technician, Class C

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Perform precise mechanical tasks in high-voltage electrical substations in various geographical areas under the supervision of senior technicians.

• Collaborate closely with seasoned Field Service Technicians to gain insights into transformer maintenance, service protocols, and troubleshooting methods.

• Utilize technical, mechanical, or military-acquired skills in practical field service scenarios.

• Carry out equipment inspections and diagnostic evaluations to aid in preventive maintenance initiatives.

• Assist in the servicing and repair of transformer systems following established procedures and tools.

• Develop skills to analyze technical data and apply findings to address critical customer issues.

• Operate Vacuum Oil Processors (VOPs) and oil handling machinery with appropriate training and supervision.

• Keep precise processing logs and assist in transformer testing activities.

• Employ digital tools and software platforms for documentation and reporting on-site.

• Partner with engineering teams, senior field personnel, and customers to facilitate maintenance strategies.

• Ensure adherence to all relevant safety, environmental, and internal protocols.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED along with 2+ years of relevant professional experience in technical or mechanical fields.

• Equivalent military training or experience is highly valued and encouraged.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the capacity to travel up to 85% nationwide.

• Must be physically able to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and perform strenuous tasks for extended periods.

• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions for up to 12 hours each day.

• Candidates must possess work authorization that allows them to be employed by Hitachi Energy in the United States.

• Class A CDL is preferred for operating specialized service vehicles.

• Welding certification or experience is advantageous for enhanced field capabilities.
