Field Service Technician – Class B

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Execute both on-site and remote service tasks, encompassing installation, commissioning, maintenance, repairs, upgrades, retrofits, and replacements.

• Assist customer operations by resolving technical issues and proactively identifying service requirements.

• Interpret and utilize electrical and mechanical drawings, instructions, and technical manuals effectively.

• Perform internal transformer tasks including bushing connections, lead clearance, tapping, crimping, taping, and forming contoured joints.

• Repair, re-gasket, assemble, and disassemble transformer equipment as instructed.

• Operate and maintain vacuum oil processing and oil handling equipment under supervision, ensuring all necessary logs are completed.

• Organize logistics for service assignments, including tools, resources, and spare parts.

• Propose suggestions for product and process enhancements that improve operations and customer service.

• Ensure adherence to relevant external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.


⛳️ Requirements

• Applicants must possess work authorization that allows them to be employed by Hitachi Energy in the United States.

• An Associate Degree with 2 years of relevant work experience, or a High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of relevant work experience is required.

• Comprehensive knowledge of transformer field service operations and transformer field testing is essential.

• Familiarity with transformer installation and assembly, vacuum and oil processing, as well as internal transformer components is preferred.

• A valid driver’s license is necessary, along with the ability to travel up to 85% of the time.

• Capability to work outdoors for extended durations and handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and climbing ladders.
