Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Conduct troubleshooting and provide training for customers on both new and existing machinery.

• Commission new machines by testing and demonstrating equipment at customer locations.

• Repair and service existing equipment on-site at customer facilities.

• Diagnose issues with machines and perform necessary service, maintenance, and repairs.

• Travel 70–80% of the time to customer sites in Canada and abroad for machine startup, troubleshooting, repair, and training.

• Suggest repair parts and product enhancements to clients.

• Guide and educate customers on the proper maintenance and operation of Nordco equipment.

• Compile weekly travel expense reports and field documentation.

• Collaborate with engineering and/or production teams to address challenges with new machinery.

• Participate in ongoing improvements to equipment and processes.

• Work autonomously while establishing effective relationships with customers.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent qualification.

• At least 5 years of experience as an industrial or mobile heavy equipment mechanic.

• Comprehensive understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

• Proficient in reading schematics.

• Capable of troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues.

• Strong mechanical aptitude.

• Ability to interpret written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.

• Competent in solving practical problems and managing variables in various scenarios.

• Skilled at reading and interpreting business documents, technical procedures, governmental regulations, and professional literature.

• Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.

• Capable of effectively presenting information and answering questions.

• Able to work with diverse personalities and foster strong customer relationships.

• Possess a valid driver's license.

• Hold a valid passport.

• French language proficiency is preferred.

• Training in PLC and/or CanBus systems troubleshooting is highly desirable.
