Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Remotely work at customer locations

• Install and maintain injection molding machinery

• Diagnose and repair injection molding machines and robotic systems

• Execute tests and inspections on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, and software components

• Carry out calibrations to enhance equipment efficiency

• Conduct software and hardware installations

• Perform safety evaluations on equipment

• Train customers on equipment usage and guide them on proper operation

• Address customer concerns, including ordering and installing replacement components

• Identify control-system issues and devise systematic approaches for machine repairs

• Train Service Technicians and customer operators on maintenance and safe operation of injection molding systems

• Collaborate with Central Service, Manufacturing, and Parts Center to troubleshoot field issues

• Deliver regular written reports to the Service Manager

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma is mandatory

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred

• Minimum of 5 years in injection molding troubleshooting or processing, or previous experience as a Field Service Injection Molding Technician/Service Engineer

• Proficient in reading blueprints and schematics for troubleshooting electrical/electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems

• Familiarity with injection molding machines

• Well-developed skills in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, computer systems, along with basic training for customers and employees

• Understanding of the injection molding process

• Capable of systematically troubleshooting issues

• Knowledge of microprocessor programming

• Familiarity with common materials such as PET, Polypropylene, Polyethylene, Styrene, among others

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong customer service orientation

• Ability to manage challenging or dissatisfied customers with tact and diplomacy

• Committed team player with a positive outlook

• Preferably knowledgeable in ENGEL machines and robots

• Ability to work autonomously with limited back-office assistance

• Valid passport is necessary

• A driver's license in good standing, including REAL ID, is required
