Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Conduct troubleshooting and provide training for customers on both new and existing machines.

• Commission new machines, which includes testing and demonstrating equipment at client locations.

• Service and repair current equipment at customer sites.

• Diagnose issues with machines and carry out maintenance, repairs, and service.

• Travel 70–80% or more to service Canadian and international customers.

• Suggest repair parts and enhancements to customers.

• Guide and train clients on the appropriate maintenance and operation of Nordco equipment.

• Compile weekly travel expense reports and field documentation.

• Collaborate with engineering and/or production teams to resolve issues with new machines.

• Participate in the ongoing improvement of equipment and procedures.

• Work autonomously while establishing strong relationships with customers.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or its equivalent.

• At least 5 years of experience as a mechanic in industrial or mobile heavy equipment.

• Comprehensive understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

• Proficient in reading schematics.

• Capable of troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues.

• Strong mechanical aptitude.

• Ability to interpret written, verbal, or diagrammatic instructions.

• Competent in solving practical problems and managing various factors.

• Ability to read and understand business documents, technical procedures, regulatory guidelines, and professional literature.

• Skilled in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.

• Proficient in delivering information effectively and addressing questions.

• Ability to collaborate with diverse personalities and cultivate strong customer relationships.

• Possession of a valid driver's license.

• Valid passport required.

• French language skills preferred.

• Training in PLC and/or CanBus systems troubleshooting is highly desirable.

• An Associate's Degree is a plus.

• Previous experience in the railroad industry is advantageous.
