This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Collaborate closely with customers and Sales teams to ensure machinery meets customer expectations.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot Roadway Work Equipment.
• Provide training for customers on both new and existing equipment.
• Commission new machines at customer locations.
• Showcase new equipment at customer sites.
• Conduct repairs on existing equipment at customer locations.
• Execute service, maintenance, and repairs to ensure equipment is restored to optimal operation.
• Suggest repair parts and product enhancements to customers.
• Guide customers on the correct maintenance and operation of Nordco equipment.
• Compile weekly travel expense reports and field documentation.
• Collaborate with Engineering and/or Production to resolve issues with new machines.
• Participate in the ongoing improvement of equipment and processes.
• Operate independently while establishing effective relationships with customers.
• High School diploma or equivalent qualification.
• At least 5 years of experience as an industrial or mobile heavy equipment mechanic.
• Strong preference for training in PLC and/or CanBus systems troubleshooting.
• General mechanical experience is required.
• In-depth knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Proficient in reading schematics.
• Previous experience in the railroad industry is advantageous.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Capability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
• Ability to interpret written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.
• Skill in solving practical problems and managing variables in various situations.
• Competence in reading and interpreting business documents, technical procedures, schematics, governmental regulations, and professional journals.
• Proficiency in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
• Ability to effectively communicate information and answer questions from managers, customers, suppliers, and the public.
• Skill in working with diverse personalities and fostering strong customer relationships.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• Willingness to travel 70%-80% of the time.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Successful completion of a drug screen may be required.
• Successful completion of a fitness for duty test may be required.
• Ability to travel to remote job sites.
• Must frequently stand, climb, walk unassisted, sit, reach, and use hands to operate tools or controls.
• Must possess close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
