Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Diagnose issues with Roadway Work Equipment for clients.

• Provide training for customers on both new and existing machinery.

• Commission new equipment, which includes training and demonstrating the machinery at client locations.

• Repair existing machinery at client sites.

• Conduct service, maintenance, and repairs to ensure equipment functions correctly.

• Suggest repair parts and recommend product enhancements to clients.

• Guide customers on the correct maintenance and usage of Nordco equipment.

• Maintain weekly travel expense records and field reports.

• Collaborate with engineering and/or production teams to address issues with new equipment.

• Participate in the ongoing enhancement of equipment and processes.

• Travel to remote job locations.

• Operate independently while fostering effective customer relationships.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or its equivalent.

• At least 5 years of experience as an industrial or mobile heavy equipment mechanic.

• Training in PLC and/or CanBus systems troubleshooting is strongly preferred.

• General mechanical experience is required.

• In-depth knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

• Capability to read and interpret schematics.

• Prior experience in the railroad industry is a plus.

• Strong mechanical aptitude.

• Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues.

• Ability to understand written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.

• Skilled in solving practical problems and managing variables in various scenarios.

• Competence in reading and interpreting business documents, technical procedures, schematics, government regulations, and professional journals.

• Ability to compose reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.

• Capability to present information and address inquiries from managers, clients, suppliers, and the public.

• Ability to work effectively in a diverse environment while building strong customer relationships.

• Valid Driver’s License is required.

• Willingness to travel 70%-80% of the time.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

• Successful completion of a drug screening and fitness-for-duty test, as applicable.
