This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on deployed equipment at Ports of Entry, including License Plate Reader (LPR) systems, RFID, network/power setups, signage, and communication devices.
• Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues, determine root causes, and execute prompt repairs to reduce downtime.
• Install new equipment and systems in compliance with SAIC specifications and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors for equipment upgrades, replacements, and enhancements.
• Adhere to CBP and SAIC IT security, physical security, operations security, OSHA regulations, and local safety policies.
• Maintain documentation of equipment maintenance activities, schedules, repair histories, and inventory levels.
• Address emergency repair requests and provide on-call support as required during business hours from Monday to Friday.
• Engage professionally with CBP personnel, Border Patrol agents, vendors, and the general public.
• Travel to US Customs Ports of Entry and Border Patrol locations in the Tucson area, as well as potentially other US border sites for installations and ticket resolutions.
• A Bachelor's degree along with 2 years of relevant experience is required; alternatively, 4 additional years of experience may compensate for the degree.
• A strong preference for candidates with 6 years of experience as a Field Service Technician or Equipment Installation Technician.
• Must currently reside in the Tucson area.
• Capability to drive daily to job sites located up to 150 miles away.
• Excellent technical skills in diagnosing and repairing complex electronic and mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to compose reports.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools, hand tools, power tools, and computer software used for equipment maintenance and repair.
• Solid understanding of low-voltage electrical wiring principles.
• Technical expertise with CAT 6 signal cabling, including testing and termination.
• Willingness to travel to other US border locations for periods of up to two weeks.
• US citizenship is mandatory.
• Must be able to obtain DHS Public Trust before commencing work.
• A CBP Background Investigation and drug screening are required prior to starting employment.
• Mileage reimbursement will be provided at the current government rate.
• A comprehensive toolkit will be supplied to assist with installation and maintenance tasks.
