Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Deliver high-quality service and maintenance for intricate Wescam MX-Series airborne surveillance turrets.

• Conduct repairs, testing, and upkeep of Wescam MX-Series sensor systems in alignment with established procedures and client deadlines.

• Grasp the workings of gimbal systems, component interactions, and peripheral interfaces.

• Diagnose, repair, and test malfunctioning systems, including issues related to aircraft integration.

• Execute preventative maintenance on MX turrets.

• Complete formal and on-the-job MX training to achieve proficiency within 90 days.

• Provide support to U.S. Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, and DOD Military clients.

• Act as a resource for colleagues in areas of expertise.

• Finalize service and repair documentation as well as technical trip reports.

• Offer training to customers on MX operations and operator-level maintenance.

• Assist with occasional off-hour or weekend tasks for customers.

• Travel to OCONUS and other international locations, including extreme environments and challenging living conditions.

• Adhere to overseas schedules of up to 84 hours per week and remain on call 24/7.

• Make autonomous decisions that impact mission-critical system performance and availability.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or 2 years of post-secondary/associate degree with at least 3 years of related experience.

• A minimum of 4 years of experience using electronic and mechanical testing equipment.

• At least 4 years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing aircraft integration, electronics, and mechanical systems down to the line replaceable unit level.

• Minimum of 4 years of experience with MS Office applications, including Word and Excel, as well as specialized software testing programs.

• At least 4 years of experience effectively communicating with both technical and non-technical customers.

• Willingness and capability to support OCONUS sites for short-term deployments.

• Physical ability and willingness to work outdoors in temperatures exceeding 120 degrees.

• Capacity to work 12 hours per day, 7 days a week, and be on call 24/7 at OCONUS locations.

• Must fulfill all medical requirements for overseas assignments, including a comprehensive post-offer medical examination.

• 90% travel is required.

• Active DoD Secret clearance or higher is preferred.

• At least 5 years of experience as an electro-mechanical technician on similarly complex products is preferred.

• Minimum of 4 years of prior FSR experience in CONUS and OCONUS repair roles is desirable; equivalent military experience will be considered.

• Experience in Special Operations, AFSOC, DOD, Airborne Law Enforcement, or similar fields is preferred.

• Direct experience with systems integration, software, optical, and electro-mechanical systems is preferred.

• Previous experience with aircraft, tower, or aerostat-based MX sensor systems is highly desired.

• Familiarity with government contracting is preferred but not mandatory.

• Experience in working under limited supervision or autonomously.

• Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
