This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +1 more state.
• Travel directly to client locations to represent Hypertherm’s Waterjet brand.
• Assist with scheduled delivery events and the installation and configuration of OMAX Waterjet equipment.
• Unpack and inventory equipment, assess equipment layout and permanent placement, and assemble and connect sub-assemblies.
• Conduct system testing and repairs.
• Offer training on new equipment and accessories, including follow-up after installation.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic problems on installed OMAX Waterjet equipment on-site, via email, and over the phone.
• Execute contract maintenance services at client sites.
• Keep timely, detailed, and analytical digital service records, including photographs and technical attachments.
• Provide feedback on product issues encountered in the field.
• Collaborate with the sales team as a technical expert during customer-facing trade show demonstrations and pre-sales visits.
• Travel more than 75% of the time from Monday to Friday.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2 years in Field Technical Service or a related field.
• Over 2 years of experience with Cutting Solutions products.
• Capability to carry, pull, lift, push, and grip over 70 lbs.
• Ability to crawl, twist, and climb into machinery.
• Must be able to stand and work on hard surfaces for extended periods.
• Physically capable of meeting the demands of the position.
• Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and CNC/PLC system fundamentals.
• English fluency is required.
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License applicable in all 50 states.
• Residency in North Carolina, Georgia, or Florida within one hour of an international airport is required.
• Must be able to adapt to frequent travel, effectively use travel systems and airline applications, and modify plans with short notice.
• Practical experience with multimeters, electrical schematics, software utilities, torque wrenches, and dial indicators.
• Strong mechanical aptitude across electrical, software, plumbing, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to train customers on product operation, maintenance, and software programming.
• Competence in reading and interpreting technical manuals for installation, operation, and training purposes.
• Strong computer skills, including Windows navigation, driver and firmware installation, and file management.
• Experience in a process-focused environment.
• Ability to handle challenging customer interactions and act as a key point of contact during product installation and repair.
• Preferred: Associate's Degree in electrical or mechanical fields.
• Preferred: Experience in Cutting Solutions operational and manufacturing assembly.
