Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Install, commission, troubleshoot, repair, and analyze Eos commercial BESS and third-party products both in the field and remotely through email, telephone, remote support tools, and site visits.

• Timely and accurately retrieve and update information using the company-provided Field Service and Work Order Management tools.

• Create reports, provide customer training, and address customer inquiries regarding system functionality and performance.

• Acquire extensive knowledge of Eos commercial products and third-party offerings sold by Eos.

• Conduct acceptance and performance testing, troubleshooting, installation, startups, shutdowns, commissioning, and turnarounds of BESS.

• Regularly handle high-voltage DC electricity, three-phase power, and relevant software for BESS and third-party products.

• Review and resolve warranty claims while assisting customers with non-warranty concerns.

• Provide support services and maintenance for existing systems.

• Carry out other assigned duties and responsibilities.


⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

• A minimum of one to three (1-3) years of field experience in Electrical/Electronics/Power electronics and/or network communications is highly recommended.

• Trade or vocational college education with a focus on electrical work/renewable energy/electronics is preferred.

• Previous experience in the renewable industry, particularly in energy storage, is strongly preferred.

• Familiarity with applied problem-solving methodologies.

• Completed electrical safety training, such as NFPA70E or a similar program.

• Experience with Medium Voltage/Substation is an advantage.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with Sr. FSTs and Engineers.

• Proficient computer skills, including Windows, Office, and programming; PLC/controls experience is a bonus.

• Understanding of safety practices related to electrical work, crane operation, forklift usage, and construction.

• Comprehension of DC electrical systems and controls.

• Knowledge of electrical voltage meters and electrical testing equipment.

• Familiarity with the National Electrical Code.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, working at field installations for up to 100% of the time for durations of up to three weeks.

• Capability to work at significant heights and in extreme environments, perform repetitive duties for extended periods, and frequently lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
