Field Service Engineer 2

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Conduct timely and precise preventative maintenance on medical equipment within hospitals or healthcare systems.

• Diagnose, service, repair, and install moderately complex medical devices.

• Manage customer communications and act as an escalation contact for customer issues, including installations.

• Take ownership of customer concerns from the point of dispatch or identification through to resolution.

• Actively engage with team members to ensure suitable solutions for customers.

• Oversee installations, validations, maintenance, and service repairs on assigned equipment.

• Utilize customer insights and relationships to support customers and enhance service sales with contract and on-demand revenue growth.

• Foster customer relationships while ensuring timely communication, resolution, and follow-up.

• Keep a daily record of all work performed, including debriefings, metrics, and parts ordering.

• Collaborate with customers and/or sales teams to suggest value-added services.

• Implement GE HealthCare escalation processes and work together with regional and national support on corrective action plans.

• Enhance customer satisfaction through Service Excellence.


⛳️ Requirements

• An associate degree in a related field or equivalent military education along with 4 years of experience in servicing electronic equipment, or a high school diploma/GED and 6 years of relevant experience.

• Technical skills in troubleshooting, repairing, and installing equipment.

• A valid driver’s license is required and must be kept current.

• Familiarity with web applications and the Microsoft suite of products.

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; employment visa sponsorship is not available.

• Willingness to be available after hours and/or participate in a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends.

• Proven ability to handle multiple, competing priorities while maintaining customer satisfaction.

• Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs. without assistance.

• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for extended periods.

• Competence in reaching at, above, and below shoulder level, flexing/extending the neck, and possessing good hand and finger dexterity.

• Must comply with company policies, procedures, hospital protocols, and regulatory and compliance requirements.
