Field Engineer 1 – MR/CT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Conduct timely and precise preventative maintenance on one or more medical equipment modalities.

• Adhere to Field Modification Instructions and Instrument Service Information bulletins.

• Collaborate with experienced Field Engineers both onsite and remotely to acquire troubleshooting, repair, and equipment installation skills.

• Support equipment installations.

• Execute basic troubleshooting and service repairs on assigned equipment.

• Communicate and collaborate with teammates, colleagues, and customers to ensure effective issue resolution and follow-up.

• Suggest value-added services that enhance customer business efficiency.

• Maintain customer service logs and internal service documentation.

• Order repair parts and oversee cycle times.

• Utilize the GEHC escalation process and work with regional and national support on corrective action plans.

• Act as a member of the account community for key accounts.

• Engage with commercial counterparts, identify sales leads, partake in sales opportunities, and contribute to revenue programs.

• Cultivate customer relationships and promote customer satisfaction through Service Excellence.

• Monitor competitor insights and market trends.

• Independently respond to service calls within one year of employment.

• Complete planned Quality, EHS, and Compliance activities.


⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; OR equivalent military education; OR participation in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship program; OR High School Diploma/GED with 4 or more years of experience in servicing electronic equipment.

• Proficient in web applications and the Microsoft suite of products.

• Capability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted.

• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for extended periods.

• Ability to reach at, above, and below shoulder level; flex/extend neck; and exhibit good hand and finger dexterity.

• Required vision capabilities may include color, close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

• Willingness to be available after hours or work a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends, as necessary.

• Must adhere to GEHC's standard background check, including a post-offer drug test.

• Must comply with customer access policies, including required immunizations and additional drug tests or background checks when applicable.

• Must conform to applicable quality, EHS, health and human services, legal, and regulatory requirements.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
