This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Execute onsite installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of chromatography instruments, such as IC and HPLC.
• Identify and resolve electronic, mechanical, ultra-high vacuum, high-voltage, and system-level problems to restore instrument functionality.
• Deliver prompt, professional customer service while fulfilling service obligations and achieving customer satisfaction objectives.
• Educate and assist customers in equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and basic troubleshooting techniques.
• Precisely document field service activities, including installation and service work reports, and submit them through the designated system.
• Support Commercial Teams with technical insights, training, and demonstrations.
• Oversee territory operations, including scheduling, travel logistics, parts coordination, and timely communication with customers and internal teams.
• Collaborate with internal technical support, service leadership, and cross-functional teams to address complex customer challenges.
• Travel up to 75% within the assigned territory.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Chemistry, or a related technical field with 2+ years of experience in installing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex analytical instruments, or an Advanced Degree.
• Proven expertise with intricate electro-mechanical systems, ideally in support of IC and HPLC instruments.
• Strong capabilities in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware and software issues, with the ability to pinpoint problems at the component level.
• Experience in mentoring, training, and providing technical support to others is preferred.
• Familiarity with documenting service activities and creating accurate, detailed service reports.
• Prior experience in delivering exceptional customer satisfaction and establishing strong customer relationships.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a proven ability to foster positive customer interactions.
• Capability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and engineering drawings.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining effective collaboration with the team.
• Availability to respond to urgent customer requirements.
• Proficient with Windows operating systems, networking, and standard business software.
• Comply with all safety protocols and be able to operate in cleanroom environments when necessary.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform work in laboratory settings.
• Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship, both now and in the future.
• Must successfully pass a thorough background check and drug screening.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel 75% of the time.
• Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance.
• Some level of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
• Will be working with hazardous or toxic materials.
• Relocation assistance is not provided.
