Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Execute installation and maintenance of instrumentation with minimal oversight in accordance with ISO and GMP standards.

• Ensure comprehensive follow-up service and contact customers post-service to confirm satisfaction with the provided solutions.

• Record all service activities in alignment with GMP regulations.

• Travel daily to various customer locations.

• Diagnose and repair lasers/optical pathways, fluidic systems, pneumatic systems, electronic systems, and computers on-site.

• Manage car stock inventory, testing equipment, tools, technical documentation, and company vehicles.

• Oversee time management, expenses, company-issued credit cards, travel advances, and spare parts inventory in accordance with established protocols.

• Report any quality control and technical issues to the Service Center and System Support Engineering Manager.

• Collaborate with other departments and managers to address customer concerns.

• Foster and uphold excellent customer relations while embodying BD standards.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.

• At least 3 years of experience in troubleshooting instruments or components.

• Must possess a valid Driver's License.

• Willingness and ability to travel at least 50% of the time.

• Physical ability to lift and handle items weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering, or a related technical/biological field.

• Preferred: Prior experience as a Field Service Engineer, especially with medical devices or similar technical equipment.

• Preferred: Familiarity with flow cytometry technology.

• Preferred: Experience in customer-facing roles.

• Proven ability to use diagnostic tools, such as digital volt meters and oscilloscopes.

• Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word and Excel.

• Knowledgeable in both Mac and PC operating systems.
