Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Install, commission, troubleshoot, repair, and analyze Eos commercial BESS and third-party products in the field.

• Provide remote customer support through email, phone, and remote assistance tools, in addition to conducting on-site visits.

• Review and address warranty claims while assisting customers with non-warranty concerns.

• Support services and maintenance for existing systems.

• Utilize Field Service and Work Order Management tools to accurately and promptly retrieve and update information.

• Prepare reports, train customers, and address inquiries regarding system functionality and performance.

• Acquire comprehensive knowledge of Eos commercial and third-party products.

• Perform acceptance and performance testing, troubleshooting, installation, startups, shutdowns, commissioning, and turnarounds of BESS.

• Regularly work with high-voltage DC electricity, three-phase power, and pertinent BESS software.

• Execute other assigned duties and responsibilities as necessary.


⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

• A minimum of one to three (1-3) years of field experience in Electrical/Electronics/Power electronics or network communications is recommended.

• Trade or vocational college education focusing on electrical work, renewable energy, or electronics is preferred.

• Prior experience in the renewable energy sector, particularly in energy storage, is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with applied problem-solving methodologies.

• Completion of electrical safety training, such as NFPA70E or equivalent.

• Medium Voltage/Substation experience is an advantage.

• Proficient computer skills: Windows and Office; experience with PLC/programming and controls is a plus.

• Knowledge of safety protocols related to electrical, crane, forklift, and construction work.

• Understanding of DC electrical systems and controls.

• Familiarity with electrical voltage meters and testing equipment.

• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, with field assignments potentially requiring up to 100% of working time for periods of up to three weeks.

• Capability to work at significant heights and in extreme environments; able to perform repetitive tasks for extended durations; frequently lift at least 50 pounds.

• Ability to work independently and collaborate with senior field service technicians and engineers when necessary.

• Exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and a high level of accuracy.
